Centre Policies

At Shi Lin Learning Centre, we believe in being clear and upfront with parents about how our centre operates, from lesson cancellations and rescheduling to attendance expectations and how we use photos for marketing purposes. This page outlines our current policies so you know exactly what to expect when enrolling your child with us. By enrolling, students and parents agree to comply with the terms set out below. Purpose

This policy sets out the terms for lesson cancellations, refunds, and make-up lessons. By enrolling, students and parents agree to comply with these terms.

Cancellation Notice

All cancellations must be communicated in advance through the centre's official communication channel (WhatsApp). The applicable terms depend on the notice period provided before the scheduled lesson.

Cancellation Policy

More than 48 hours notice: Student may attend a make-up lesson at a mutually agreed time. No fee forfeited.

Between 24–48 hours notice: 50% of the lesson fee will be forfeited and is non-refundable. Student must still attend a make-up lesson, and any fee difference must be paid if applicable.

Within 24 hours of lesson: The lesson will be treated as attended. Full fee will be deducted, with no refund and no make-up lesson provided.

Make-Up Lessons

All make-up lessons are subject to availability and must be scheduled at a time agreed with the centre. The centre reserves the right to assign available slots.

Attendance & Punctuality

Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons and arrive on time. Repeated lateness may result in reduced lesson time, as classes will not be extended beyond their scheduled end time to accommodate late arrivals. Parents are encouraged to inform the centre in advance via WhatsApp if their child will be late or absent, so that teachers can plan lessons accordingly.

Code of Conduct

All students are expected to conduct themselves respectfully towards teachers and fellow students during lessons. This includes staying focused during class time, refraining from disruptive behaviour, and limiting the use of mobile phones or other electronic devices unless required for lesson purposes. The centre reserves the right to address repeated behavioural issues with parents, and in serious cases, may review a student's continued enrolment.

Public Holidays & Lesson Rescheduling

Lessons falling on gazetted public holidays will not proceed as scheduled. Affected lessons will either be rescheduled to an alternative date or treated as a make-up lesson, subject to availability, in line with the centre's Make-Up Lessons policy. Parents will be notified in advance of any affected lesson dates and rescheduling arrangements.

Photography & Marketing Consent

From time to time, Shi Lin Learning Centre may take photographs or videos of students during lessons, events, or celebrations for use on our website, social media platforms, or promotional materials. By enrolling your child, you consent to such use unless you inform the centre in writing that you do not wish for your child's image to be used. Parents may withdraw this consent at any time by notifying the centre directly.
