Teacher Abel is a wonderful and patient teacher. He goes out of his way to help us students achieve great results and guarantee us a bright future. For example, during my December holidays, he helped my classmates and I gather our portfolio together, which will help us in our Early Admission Exercise (EAE) for our Polytechnic admission. The study environment is very conclusive as he will encourage us with gifts if we exceed our goals. He is very funny, which is great so his students would not be stressed about their studies. You will never find such a caring and friendly teacher like him. Though he can be childish, he is still serious about his students’ academic results.

Teacher Abel is a very funny and cheerful teacher who changes the tense atmosphere in the class. He ensures that we enjoy studying. As such, this enables us students to strive and work harder to achieve better results.

I’ve been having tuition here for a long time and the teachers here are friendly and approachable. Teacher Wee Han has been teaching me Science for a while and I felt my science has greatly improved. He explains every question in great details and makes sure that I understand every topic well. He also assures me that I can ask any questions and not be afraid to ask.
“Tremendous improvement in grades!”
Through attending lessons here, I am able to put in many hours of focused and undivided attention into revising for Additional Mathematics in an conclusive environment, leading to a tremendous improvement in my grades and understanding of the subject ; a stark contrast from when I was failing the subject previously. Even though I had many questions, the teacher managed to clear all of my doubts and is willing to go the extra mile, giving me additional practices when requested. Overall, I am satisified with the lessons provided here and am confident that I will have done well for my O’ levels examination.
“Conducive environment!”
In our tuition, we have a teacher that can teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. He will give a paper to you and after finishing the paper, he will tell you why your answer was wrong. There are other teachers that teach different subjects well. The environment of the tuition centre is good.
“Chinese from borderline B4 in Prelims to a solid A1(D) during O’Levels!”
Despite receiving a really mediocre result for my Prelims, the tuition teachers’ belief in my potential still remained unshaken. Since my E-Mathematics results went from constant failing to a high A2 in Prelims, they believed they could do the same for my Chinese results. And I did. The teachers also took time off their schedule to guide me through countless Chinese TYS questions, ensuring I had understood and fully grasped the concept of the passages. Although it was tiring, my hard work paid off when my results for O’Level Chinese was a beautiful A1(D). I give my heartfelt thanks to the teachers of Shi Lin Learning Centre for their patience and trust in my capability, for without them, I would have already lost half the battle and my results would not have been so marvellous that day.
I did not have a flair for academic and i was getting mediocre results for my exams, knowing that it won’t suffice if i want to go the course that i wanted. But ever since i went to this tuition centre, i was motivated to attain good results. Although the process wasn’t fun at all, but theres a saying ” no pain no gain” without hardships, you won’t succeed. I’m grateful for the teachers that stood by my side and motivating even when i wanted to give up which allowed me to do better than before.
I have failed badly for science during Prelims 2. However, things took for a change. For the first time, I have passed my Science for my O’s and I did well for my Mathematics (AMaths & EMaths)! I was very happy when I received my results. Now, I can go to my desired course in Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Child Psychology)! All my tutors have been very helpful and patient in guiding me whenever I need help or have any doubts. Thank you my tutors and Shi Lin!
The teachers are nice and fun. Most of the lesson are very engaging and it makes me want to come and not miss any lesson.
The teachers are fierce and have high expectations on us. (Very fierce but friendly at the same time.) The lesson is fun and it gives me a strong sense of motivation to study even harder.
I am thankful for the teacher who helped me with my academics, boosting my confidence. The teacher is caring too. (Lovely, but fierce.) I was not confident in doing my work, but it was different after attending the lessons here. The lessons are enjoyable and rather aiming for just a pass, I would now try to aim for a higher grade.
Grateful for the patience guidance towards my daughter and son from all of the tutors & Mrs Ng! Shi Lin not only provides tuition for 2 of my kids but it’s like a second home to them, a caring environment that cannot be found in other place. Thank you so much to all of you!
I am very grateful and thankful to all of you! Since when I was in primary 4 to secondary 4, it had been 6 years of learning experience in Shi Lin Learning Centre.
I remembered when I first came, I fear that I would just waste my time but this tuition centre did not gave up on me even when I was in the EM3 stream back then. The teachers are all very patient and passionate in every way they teach.
Through the first few months, I was able to read and write tremendously well than before. I could feel the effectiveness by the way they teach. Since then my ‘fate’ of always getting the last position without fail to my present self who consistently gets top ten positions in class, I managed to get into a good Secondary School with outstanding PSLE results and I am far beyond satisfied.
During my years in Mayflower Secondary School, I held a key role for my CCA, St.Johns Ambulance Brigade. Hence, there are times when I had to rush between school, tuition and CCAs. When I was in Secondary 2, I picked up a part-time job and my free time for revision got reduced for that point. Nevertheless, I accelerated in my academics with much help by Shi Lin Learning Centre.
This tuition centre also instills a sense of importance in studies. With ample practice, I topped my school’s GCE ‘N’ Level Examinations in 2010 achieve 4 credits for English, Elementary Mathematics, Science and Computer Applications. Progressing onto a course of my choice in Nitec Aerospace Avionics in ITE College Central, Yishun even when I am eligible to transfer to the Normal Academic stream. I would like to take this opportunity to thank a patient and determine maths teacher if mine, Eugene!
As a typical ‘O’ Level student, I often had to stay back after school for remedial and extra lessons. I was also holding a job then and hence my only free time was occupied with work. I was always rushing between school, home and my workplace. I had to work till 10 pm or even later, and could only get to bed at around 12 am.
My hectic schedule affected my ability to concentrate during lessons. This resulted in my poor performance in school as well as my slipping grades. From Secondary 3 onwards, it became more difficult for me to grasp the syllabus. My grades were not ideal. Furthermore, the remedial lessons in school did little to improve my understanding of the topics.
Determined to improve my academic performance, I engaged the help of Shi Lin Learning Centre. Initially, it seemed to be conducted in a similar way as any other remedial and school lessons-boring and a waste of time. However, I came to realise that my grades were gradually improving. Words of encouragement from my teachers spurred me on to achieve greater heights.
After having tuition for some time, I topped the class for the first time in a Physics test. My grades for Mathematics have improved enormously. Despite that, I still could not make it to the Psychology and Community Service course in Ngee Ann Polytechnic with the 16 points I attained for my preliminary examination.
Nevertheless, Shi Lin Learning Centre did not give up on me. Instead, I was pushed harder. After all the hard work, I managed to score 9 points during the ‘O’ levels and am able to enter the course of my choice.
I would like to thank all the teachers in Shi Lin Learning Centre for all the help and support that they have rendered me. I really appreciate it and will never forget the things that I have learnt at Shi Lin Learning Centre.
Before I joined Shi Lin Learning Centre, my English grade was always a fail grade. After joining Shi Lin Learning Centre, my grades improved. I passed my papers with flying colors. Thanks to teacher Miss Lee, Miss Van Tan.I have great improvement in my math also. Previously I always failed my math, but now my grade is B. I own a credit to Mr Christ teacher. The teachers here are all very patient. I would like to thank Mr Kee for improving my science grade.
Finally, I would also like to thank teacher Cherlyn for helping me in Chinese.
Shilin Learning Centre provides knowledgeable and extremely dedicated teachers who has great passion in teaching. Alongside the great learning environment, Shilin Learning Centre has given me the optimal education. My grades for Physics, Chemistry, Additional Mathematics has improved significantly over the course of one year! For example, my physics and chemistry grades had jumped from a mere C6 to a outstanding A1/A2 in my O levels! However, the credit goes not only to me, but also the teachers in this fine institution. A big thank you to Shilin Learning Centre!
Damien was a mischievous (well-known tyrant in Ang Mo Kio) student. He did not want to study at all and seems to be giving up on his studies. I insisted to put him over here at Shi Lin Learning Centre and the teachers here did not give up on him. The teacher is patience towards him and giving him all of the care and concern. It was a good choice for me to put him here. In the past, he only get a single digit, but now he pass all of his subjects. We thought he might not be able to pass his PSLE. However, he ended up getting an A for science in PSLE and pass all the rest of the subject. A big thank you to all the teachers who have taught him.
After joining Shi Lin, my results have been improving. Currently, I am 1st in cohort. Without the patience and guidance of Shi Lin, I would not be able to achieve what I have today. Thanks to Shi Lin for helping me.

With engaging and innovative teaching methods, there is never a dull moment in Shi Lin Learning Centre! Furthermore, the teachers are all very dedicated and encouraging. I certainly owe my thanks to all my teachers!
The teachers here are just like coffee. No matter how bitter it is, they could add a little sugar to sweeten things up. What I mean is, studying can be very stressful and tiring (to some people, haha!), but the teachers here are able to make you fall in love with studying! I feel very fortunate to be one of the students here and I thank all the teachers that helped me out during the holidays to buck up my weaker subjects
